About The Niram Collective

We didn’t plan to start a brand.
We just wanted to solve a problem that every Indian woman knows too well.

Niram began as an idea Radha had while working on an assignment for her MBA. She shared it with Sindhu (her sister and MBA classmate), and before the idea was even complete, Sindhu said, “I’m in.”

Both of us were new mums then, our babies are just six weeks apart. One day, while clearing out our wardrobes, we found ourselves surrounded by stacks of sarees. Beautiful fabrics. Kanchipuram silks, Benarasi, Chanderi, Cotton. Pieces of memory and heritage just sitting there, untouched, because our blouses no longer fit with our new bodies.

That’s when it hit us -

"if just the two of us had this many unused sarees, imagine how many are lying untouched in cupboards across Singapore."

That single thought was how The Niram Collective was born.

Sindhu and Radha

What started as a simple idea to upcycle old sarees has grown into a circular fashion movement that now reimagines how we wear Indian wear. We wanted to make sustainable Indianwear accessible, stylish, and practical for everyone.

Along the way, we discovered pain points that every woman faces, such as the frustration of having a gorgeous saree and a blouse that no longer fit. That led us to create our Signature Stretchable Saree Blouse, designed to end last-minute breakdowns before functions. No stress. No tailoring panic. Just confidence and comfort.

Today, The Niram Collective is Singapore’s first circular fashion brand for Indianwear, built on community, sustainability, and storytelling. Every piece we make is upcycled from donated sarees, crafted with love, and designed to give old fabrics a new life.

From saree upcycling to Indianwear rentals in Singapore, we believe that fashion should honour culture while caring for the planet.

We’re just two women juggling motherhood, work, and the dream of making sustainability more personal. Every jacket, every shrug, every upcycled piece carries our story, our laughter, our sleepless nights, and the belief that small changes can build big legacies.

This isn’t fast fashion.
This is circular fashion, stitched with meaning. For you, for us, for tomorrow.
